  • Description

Elevate the visual allure of your rooftop with the captivating copper finished Cockerel Weathervane, proudly adorning a terracotta ridge tile. More than a mere decorative piece, this weathervane's poised cockerel gracefully pivots with the wind, creating a mesmerizing spectacle as it doubles as a charming weather indicator. While the standard terracotta ridge tile seamlessly complements diverse roof styles, the offering extends beyond with an array of colour and finish options, allowing you to tailor it to your distinctive preferences.

    Here are the dimensions:

    Overall Height: 39.5" (1000mm)
Ridge Base Length: 12 inches (296mm) at a 45 degree angle
Ridge Base Width: 9 inches (225mm) at a 45 degree angle

Notably absent is the conventional bracket, a deliberate choice informed by the meticulous considerations of roofing professionals. To safeguard against water infiltration, the installation of the cockerel weathervane requires minimal effort and time. A secure attachment is achieved using mortar, ensuring a seamless integration. Moreover, the weathervane boasts a sturdy mechanical fix fitting with a metal strap that can be tailored to size. Featuring predrilled holes, the metal strap allows for various fastening methods such as nailing or screwing. Once firmly in place, the strap discreetly conceals itself beneath the traditionally laid mortar bedding of the ridge base.

These versatile cockerel ridge weathervanes complement a diverse array of roof types, including gable ends, hip ends, homes, cottages, sheds, workshops, and even summer homes. Beyond rooftops, they transcend into elegant garden ornaments, adding an air of charm and mystique to outdoor spaces. Incorporating this weathervane into your rooftop is a bold proclamation, infusing a touch of sophistication into the exterior aesthetic of your home.

  • Brackets & Fixings

This weathervane finial can insalled in the following ways:

    Mortar bedding:

The traditional installation method is to bed the finial onto the roof using mortar, in the same way as ridge tiles are fitted. For larger or heavier finials, additional mechanical fixing can be used for extra stability.

    Mechanical strap fixing with mortar:

Many finials are supplied with a concealed galvanised metal fixing strap secured beneath the ridge base. The adjustable strap can be cut to length and fixed to the roof structure using screws, nails or mortar. Once installed, the strap is hidden beneath the mortar bedding, leaving a clean and seamless finish.

    Dry fixing systems:

Some roofs use dry fix systems that secure ridge tiles and finials without mortar. These systems typically use brackets or mechanical fixings. If you are using a dry ridge system, please contact us to confirm whether your chosen finial can be adapted for compatibility.
