Copper verdigris angel weathervane supplied on a 45 degree ridge tile finial
- Description
Exuding grace and allure, this weathervane showcases a resplendent copper verdigris angel atop a unique double arch 45 degree angle ridge tile. Transformed by weathering into a breathtaking copper verdigris finish, it seamlessly merges ornamental allure with practical wind direction functionality.
Standing at an impressive 26.8 inches (68cm) tall, this celestial guardian becomes a majestic focal point when adorning the roofline. With dimensions of 12 inches (296mm) in length and 9 inches (225mm) in width, the 45 degree angled ridge base not only ensures a snug fit but also exudes a stylish aesthetic.
Distinguishing itself from standard bracket installations, this angelic weathervane offers a superior alternative. Recognizing the paramount importance of preserving the integrity of roofing systems by keeping water at bay, its installation circumvents the need for invasive drilling or working within the roof's constraints. Through low hassle application of mortar, the ridge tile fitting securely anchors itself to the roof, simplifying the installation process.
Facilitating easy installation further is the included mechanical fix fitting, a robust yet adaptable metal strap that can be trimmed to suit any setting. Featuring multiple holes, the strap allows for flexible attachment methods such as nailing, screwing, or other fastening techniques. Once affixed, the metal strap discreetly disappears, cleverly concealed by standard mortar methods during the ridge base's installation.
Versatile in application, these angel ridge weathervanes enhance the aesthetics of gable ends, hip ends, houses, cottages, sheds, workshops, and summer houses. Beyond their roofline prowess, these celestial features can also double as enchanting garden ornaments. Elevate your roof's allure with this weathervane, an embodiment of visual fascination and meticulous craftsmanship.
- Brackets & Fixings
This weathervane finial can insalled in the following ways:
Mortar bedding:
The traditional installation method is to bed the finial onto the roof using mortar, in the same way as ridge tiles are fitted. For larger or heavier finials, additional mechanical fixing can be used for extra stability.
Mechanical strap fixing with mortar:
Many finials are supplied with a concealed galvanised metal fixing strap secured beneath the ridge base. The adjustable strap can be cut to length and fixed to the roof structure using screws, nails or mortar. Once installed, the strap is hidden beneath the mortar bedding, leaving a clean and seamless finish.
Dry fixing systems:
Some roofs use dry fix systems that secure ridge tiles and finials without mortar. These systems typically use brackets or mechanical fixings. If you are using a dry ridge system, please contact us to confirm whether your chosen finial can be adapted for compatibility.
