Angler weathervane supplied with a half round roof ridge finial
- Description
Behold the exquisite steel angler weathervane, an ornate embellishment crafted from enduring steel, designed to enhance the aesthetic allure of your roof effortlessly. Fashioned with a distinctive half round roof ridge, this weathervane transcends mere ornamentation, blending functionality with elegance.
Crafted for both visual appeal and precision, the angler figurine gracefully pirouettes with the whims of the breeze, elegantly indicating the wind's direction. The standard terracotta colour for the ridge tile fitting is available, accompanied by a myriad of alternative colours and finishes, allowing you to tailor your choice to complement your unique taste.
Dimensional details stand as follows: the overall height reaches a majestic 33" (82cm), while the half round base boasts a width of 10" (24cm), a length of 12" (30cm), and a height of 8" (20.5cm).
Bid farewell to the complexities of installing brackets, the angler weathervane offers a straightforward installation process. Eliminate concerns about compromising your roof's waterproof integrity, simply secure the half round roof ridge in place with traditional mortar. An added convenience is the weathervane's flexible metal strap, providing a mechanical fix that is easily customisable. This versatile strap, equipped with multiple attachment points, affords the freedom to screw, nail, or secure it to the roof structure. Once fastened securely, the metal strap discreetly disappears beneath the ridge base, concealed by the artistry of traditional mortar application.
Versatility defines the angler ridge weathervanes, suitable for various roof types, including gable ends, hip ends, houses, cottages, sheds, workshops, and even garden summer houses. The uncomplicated installation process remains adaptable, ensuring a seamless integration tailored to your specific requirements.
- Brackets & Fixings
This weathervane finial can insalled in the following ways:
Mortar bedding:
The traditional installation method is to bed the finial onto the roof using mortar, in the same way as ridge tiles are fitted. For larger or heavier finials, additional mechanical fixing can be used for extra stability.
Mechanical strap fixing with mortar:
Many finials are supplied with a concealed galvanised metal fixing strap secured beneath the ridge base. The adjustable strap can be cut to length and fixed to the roof structure using screws, nails or mortar. Once installed, the strap is hidden beneath the mortar bedding, leaving a clean and seamless finish.
Dry fixing systems:
Some roofs use dry fix systems that secure ridge tiles and finials without mortar. These systems typically use brackets or mechanical fixings. If you are using a dry ridge system, please contact us to confirm whether your chosen finial can be adapted for compatibility.
