  • Description

Introducing an extraordinary copper horse weathervane, meticulously crafted for an elevated presence atop your roof. This weathervane, resplendent in its copper sheen, seamlessly marries aesthetics and practicality. Fitted on a terracotta ridge tile, it emerges as a distinctive embellishment for the roof.

The weathervane's ridge foundation boasts a ridge tile angled at 45 degrees, standing tall at 37.5 inches (95 cm), stretching 12 inches (296 mm) in length, and spanning 9 inches (225 mm) in width.

Bid farewell to intricate roof installations or bracket affixations. Recognising the hesitance of some installers to modify roofs, the copper equine weathervane simplifies the process. The double arched 45 degree ridge tile securely adheres to the roof via mortar, ensuring a low hassle installation. For added stability, employ the provided flexible metal strap, pre drilled for attachment with screws, nails, or your preferred fasteners. Post installation, the metal strap is hidden in the standard mortar bed application for the ridge base.

Versatility defines these copper horse weathervanes, gracing diverse architectural forms, be it gable ends, hip ends, residences, cottages, sheds, workshops, or summer houses. Beyond rooftops, they enchantingly serve as garden ornaments, imparting an outdoor space with a distinctive and visually arresting allure. Whether enhancing your rooftop aesthetics or elevating your garden's ambiance, this weathervane effortlessly adapts to both environments. A beacon of enduring elegance, it captures the essence of timeless charm for your architectural and garden landscapes.

  • Brackets & Fixings

This weathervane finial can insalled in the following ways:

    Mortar bedding:

The traditional installation method is to bed the finial onto the roof using mortar, in the same way as ridge tiles are fitted. For larger or heavier finials, additional mechanical fixing can be used for extra stability.

    Mechanical strap fixing with mortar:

Many finials are supplied with a concealed galvanised metal fixing strap secured beneath the ridge base. The adjustable strap can be cut to length and fixed to the roof structure using screws, nails or mortar. Once installed, the strap is hidden beneath the mortar bedding, leaving a clean and seamless finish.

    Dry fixing systems:

Some roofs use dry fix systems that secure ridge tiles and finials without mortar. These systems typically use brackets or mechanical fixings. If you are using a dry ridge system, please contact us to confirm whether your chosen finial can be adapted for compatibility.
